Research shows the ability to read at the third grade level is a predictor for whether he or she will graduate from high school. In Sonoma County, over 50% of third grade students are reading below grade level.
The Schools of Hope program is an early intervention model for children who are struggling with reading. The program includes one-to-one literacy tutoring, volunteer recruitment and training, parent engagement, and rigorous program evaluation.
In as little as 30 minutes a week, you can make a difference in the life of a Sonoma County child; sign up for a tutor orientation today!
