ORGANIZATION: Friends of the Wells Branch Library

Make an impact on your community using your professional financial skills! The investment officer works directly with the library’s Finance Committee to maximize returns and maintain compliance with all applicable laws and statutes, ensuring that public funds are put to the best possible use by the library. This volunteer will meet quarterly with the Finance Committee to assist the Library Director with annual budget and audit preparations, as well as reviewing and updating the library’s Investment Policy each year. The library will provide the volunteer with 10 hours per year of professional training at the library's expense, including education in investment controls, security risks, strategy risks, market risks, diversification, and compliance with the Public Funds Investment Act.

Description

Friends of the Wells Branch Community Library (FOL) is a local organization that supports the community library by helping to fund special programs, provide equipment and provide volunteers for all areas of the library including children's programs, employment assistance, and computer services to the general public. The FOL secures volunteers to help move books and other materials into the hands of the patrons.
