Hospice volunteers provide needed companionship for patients and respite for caregivers. With open hearts and a willingness to be present, our volunteers are an integral part of the patient's care-team. We are looking for volunteers to visit patients located in a 9 county metro area, but especially in the Northwestern suburbs.

Mission Statement
Hennepin Healthcare Hospice' mission is to enhance the quality of the lives of our patients and their families by providing respectful care based on maintaining dignity, alleviating physical, psycho-social, and spiritual suffering, advocating for fundamental rights, and affirming the sacred value of life.
Description
Hennepin Healthcare Hospice is dedicated to the care of persons with a life-limiting illness, their family members, loved ones and caregivers. For most people who enter a long term care residence, the facility becomes home until death. When a facility resident enters the terminal phase in his or her life, the person's physical, psychosocial, emotional and spiritual needs become more intense. Many times this increased intensity requires specialized resources in order to meet and exceed the needs of the patient and his/her family. Thus, special care is required when a resident wishes to die at home, no matter where that home is.
HHH uses inter-disciplinary teams to offer the best care possible for our patients. We work throughout the Twin Cities Metro area delivering this care in private homes, long term care facilities and assisted living centers. Our volunteers are valued members of our teams.
