VOLUNTEER TITLE: COMPANION
PURPOSE/GOAL OF POSITION:
To be a friend to people who participate in Mercer Residential Services, Inc., programs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Spend time with your friend.
- Plan and do things together.
- Read books
- Be reliable.
- Accompany your friend to activities/events.
- Talk with staff as needed.

Description
We are a nonprofit organization established in 1977 by a group of parents and professionals as a local alternative to the institutionalization of people with intellectual or emotional disabilities. We provide an array of services from group homes, respite care, affordable housing, homemaker/personal care services, vocational, recreational, and social activities. We operate a consumer self help support center for individuals with severe mental disorders.
