Help maintain our Ability Garden through watering, weeding, planting, and special projects. Our Ability Garden is a garden that fosters mental and physical health and is accessible for all. This organic garden, which includes Texas native trees, bushes, flowering perennials and reseeding annuals as well as heat and drought tolerant varieties of herbs and vegetables, will enable our clients (adults with disabilities) to develop their communication, socialization, motor, and horticultural skills. It will bring them a sense of accomplishment and pure delight as they watch their work grow.

Description
For over 70 years, U&I has strived to assist individuals with disabilities and other marginalized segments within our communities to achieve their optimum level of employment, education, and independence. Through the training, advocacy, and support that we provide, individuals with disabilities, including veterans with disabilities, are able to develop essential work and life skills, access their desired job opportunities, and end the exclusion of their voice and value within society. Last year, we made a difference in the lives of over 1,000 individuals with disabilities, including high school students, homeless veterans and impoverished adults being dismissed, left out and overlooked.
