Capture the Dream, Inc. Position: DreamCatcher Assistant Program Manager

Who We Are

Established in July 2006, Capture the Dream, Inc. is dedicated to helping underserved and at-risk individuals succeed in school and find fulfilling, sustaining careers. We foster hope, love, and support to youth at critical time periods to empower them to overcome adversity and achieve their dreams. No dream is too small and no dream is too large.

Our organization offers several ongoing programs such as our Capture a Dream program that offers gift grants to low-income children throughout the Bay Area. Each gift grant embraces the value of education, arts, sports, and culture to encourage and motivate children in a time of need. In addition, our Interpret a Dream program pairs up career-minded individuals with mentors in a career field of interest. Our scholarship fund provides $1,000 scholarships to students in need. Along with these programs, we also donate school supplies through our annual DreamPack campaign and distribute Christmas gifts through our Adopt a Family program.

We were able to fulfill the dreams of over 1,000 Bay Area youth and distribute over $75,000 in goods and services to those in need. In addition, Capture the Dream, Inc. has been recognized in the Oakland Tribune, UC Davis Magazine, a local New York Television Show, People Magazine, AsianWeek, World Journal, AT&T Community Spotlight Hero Award, 2007 Maybelline Empowerment through Education Award, Oakland Mayoral Proclamation, San Francisco Mayoral Proclamation, San Francisco Board of Supervisors Certificate of Honor, California State Senate Certificate of Honor, Appreciation Award from the Taiwanese Consulate, PG&E Community Service Award, and Pinnacle Award.

Summary

Our Dreamcatcher program makes even the smallest dreams come true. Whether it is a child's dream to become an artist or a professional athlete, Capture the Dream, Inc. encourages all children to pursue their dreams by sponsoring beneficial gifts such as art supplies or sports equipment. We provide children from underprivileged communities access to activities and supplies that are often too expensive for their families to acquire on their own. In addition to funding the microgrant, we also provide a mentor to the child towards their pathway to success.

As the Dreamcatcher Assistant Program Manager, you will play an integral part in developing and managing our Dreamcatcher program. You will work with the Program Manager and Program Representatives in planning and coordinating this program by matching qualified applicants with gifts and activities related to their dreams, finding donors to provide the necessary grants, and follow up with each individual's progress towards their dreams. Through this position you will tangibly shape each child's journey to his or her dream while developing great leadership and planning skills.

  • Outreach to low income youth demographics to enroll new clients

Description

Capture the Dream, Inc., is a registered California nonprofit dedicated to helping underserved and at-risk individuals succeed at school and find fulfilling, sustaining careers.

Thousands of Bay Area school children are forced to drop out each year due to financial hardship and neglect. We support youth development and leadership advancement through mentoring, education, arts, and cultural programs. And our special events celebrate the community of dreamers we're building, one dream at a time.

Our organization believes that anyone can be a philanthropist. We build future leaders through planning and organizing events together and making dreams reality.
