Want to comfort a child in need? The Sacramento County Child Protective Services (CPS) needs volunteers or student interns to supervise and support children at the Children Receiving Home ( CRH) office. The CRH office is a temporary location for children who have been removed from their families due to abuse or neglect while waiting for a more permanent placement is being sought. Child Development Specialists work with CPS social workers at intake to supervise the children in a supportive, caring environment. This helps to reduce the impact of the separation for the child from their family. Volunteer/intern receives supervision and guidance by working alongside with Child Development Specialists. Main duties are to engage and supervise children of all age in activities, movies, crafts, or games; prepare snacks, observe behaviors, and provide emotional support to children.
