We have no minimum time commitment. No special skills are required. It takes from 1 to 4 volunteers for each rider, and we have over 125 riders each week, so we need a lot of volunteers! This is your chance to do something important, working out in the fresh air with people and animals. Parents, this is a good character-building opportunity for your teens. Make a difference today!
About Capital Area Therapeutic Riding Association (CATRA)
168 Station Road, PO Box 339, Grantville, PA 17028, US
Since 1985 CATRA has offered an opportunity for Capital Area residents from all generations with all types of special and typical needs to establish an atmosphere of support, respect, and health in an equestrian farm environment while offering a therapeutic riding experience to those able to benefit from it.
CATRA is a horse farm in Grantville, PA, where special needs children and adults ride horses for therapy and recreation. We believe in pet therapy, as well, so we have many animals besides horses, including dogs, cats, donkeys, mules, goats, miniature horses, guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens, and a pig. The farm is run by volunteers. Social opportunities for rider families and volunteers include horse shows, 4-H, picnic, Valentine party, bowling party, holiday party, and organization fundraisers CATRA-Thon and the "Miles for Smiles" Motorcyle Ride.
We'll work with your schedule.
