We need your help. When the homeless arrive at our door, they often carry all their material possessions in a plastic bag.
As the ONLY extended stay 24 hour, year round, emergency HOMELESS SHELTER in Lorain County for men, women and children, more often than not we find our supplies at a critical low point or out completely.
We have created a 'Wish List' of the items that are most in need. Many volunteers who really want to help cannot, due to work, family, social schedules. We created the 'Wish List' just for you - a 'behind the scenes' way to volunteer, contribute and help us help the homeless break the cycle of poverty with dignity.
Commitment and follow through to a 'Wish List' drive is a must. We depend on our neighbors in the community and will remove items as volunteers (individuals or groups) commit to an item(s). We strongly suggest one member of volunteer group 'tours' our agency; tours are help monthly.
Current items needed at the shelter: new pillows, new or gently used towels and wash cloths, paper goods and laundry detergent as well as personal care items such a toothpaste, shampoo and body soap.

Neighborhood Alliance has been compassionately caring for the community since 1927. We are helping our community grow stronger by caring for our clients' most basic needs. We provide emergency shelter, daily meal delivery and nutrition services for seniors, childcare and child enrichment programs, access to wellness programs such as Help Me Grow for those in need. We are empowering the people of our community with the tools to create a better life for themselves. With our inspired mission of strengthening neighborhoods, we continue to expand programs and services to address the diverse and changing needs of families and individuals in Northeast Ohio. We offer the community: Shelter & Emergency Services- Lorain County's only 24 hour, year round emergency homeless shelter with support programs & services to assist families, men, women. Child Enrichment Services- childcare for infants to school-aged for before and after-school programs + summer camp. FamilyEnrichment Services - In-home parenting education, support, program referral & developmental screenings for newborns to 3 years of age. Senior Enrichment Services provide hot home delivered meals and activities for seniors to stay engaged and remain social.
