The Humane Society of Southern AZ in Tucson has an amazing thrift store in central Tucson, off of Speedway Blvd. Although we do not have adoptable animals at this site, the proceeds earned at our thrift store help to save the lives of our shelter animals.

We are hoping to find volunteers who can take on regular weekly or bi-weekly shifts.

If you are interested in helping out as a thrift store volunteer, you may be involved in some of the following:

  • Unpacking & sorting donated items
  • Cleaning & choosing items from donated assortments
  • Hanging clothing/organizing merchandise in store
  • Attaching price tags
  • Performing customer service
  • Receiving donations
  • Helping keep the store neat and tidy
  • Performing repairs on donated items

All animals in our care are our clients. Each animal that enters the protection of the HSSA will be treated with dignity and respect from loving, responsible, well-trained caregivers, during every moment it remains under our guardianship. Our commitment to our animals is to provide them with safety, comfort, and the best possible stay within our walls, as well as to use all available means to find each animal a responsible, devoted, and permanent home.

At the Humane Society of Southern Arizona, we provide animal care and housing, adoption counseling, a lost-and-found program, animal cruelty prevention training, spay/neuter services, vaccination clinics, community outreach programs, and more.
