Purpose:
To conduct on-site and outreach (schools, clubs, special events) programs geared for targeted groups in order to further the mission of the Grand Village of the Natchez Indians (GV)
Volunteers will assist staff with preparing and conducting outreach programs and present desired program at assigned lecture site, school, or event

Mission Statement
To interpret the site of the Grand Village of the Natchez Indians which was the main ceremonial center of the Natchez from 1682 until 1729, according to historical and archaeological evidence.
Description
The 128-acre Grand Village site features a museum accredited by the American Association of Museums, a reconstructed Natchez Indian house, and three ceremonial mounds. Two of the mounds, the Great Sun's Mound and the Temple Mound, have been excavated and rebuilt to their original sizes and shapes. One of the most popular events is the Natchez Powwow which features traditional Native American dancing, foods, and crafts.
