The Ambassador Volunteer Program welcomes patients, families and visitors as they enter the Hospital and escorts them to their destination. The hours are Monday -Friday from 9AM - 4:30 PM. Mount Sinai is large and there are 12 buildings most of which are connected by a main corridor (underground) level.
The Ambassadors help patients, families, and visitors figure out where they have to go (through IPad technology and skills we teach them) and then escort them there. We ask Ambassadors to serve at least one 3-4 hour session per week. We have an orientation and then pair new Ambassadors up with an experienced Ambassador.
It is an excellent opportunity to improve your communication skills, learn what it is like to be part of a large healthcare organization, find out how gratifying it is to help others, and become a more active person. If you are kind, compassionate, willing to walk throughout the Hospital, and like to help people we can teach you to be an Ambassador!
