Driscoll Children's Hospital - Volunteer Department
Toy room volunteers are designated to distribute toys to all newly admitted patients and those admitted for day surgery. The volunteer picks up the census at the Volunteer Services office and the surgery list from Day Surgery. These lists are used to identify our patients. Toys are chosen according to age and physical condition of each child. Birthdays are celebrated with a special gift wrapped with love and presented to that child. The smiles and hugs we get would melt any heart. In addition, we supply crayons, coloring books, stickers and stuffed toys to other parts of the hospital including the Welcome Center, Nursing Stations, Emergency Room, Radiology, Oncology and Rehab. We are blessed with donations of handmade toys, quilts, stuffed animals and pillows from caring community members, as well as concerned companies in the community and individuals who donate toys throughout the year.
