About

Community Outreach - Fun and Fairs!

Are you a nature enthusiast who enjoys meeting the public? Community festivals and fairs are a great place to connect with families looking for free and healthy ways to have fun. And the Open Space Authority has a lot to offer them.

Put your "people skills" to work for open space preservation. Community Outreach Volunteers represent the Open Space Authority at community festivals, health fairs, and other public events. Activities include staffing the Open Space Authority display, answering questions, leading fun educational games, and sharing information. The Community Outreach events are primarily from September - November and March - June every year, on weekends. Being a Community Outreach Volunteer fits into just about anyone's schedule, with only a minimum commitment of 2 events per year. Shifts are 2-4 hours, depending on the length of the event.

Training for new Community Outreach Volunteers is offered every Spring and Fall.
