Help youth define their individual goals and ways to achieve them. By participating in fun activities and exposing the youth to new experiences, a mentor encourages positive choices, promotes higher self-esteem, supports academic achievement and introduces the young person to exciting new ideas.

YES serves and empowers youth and their families while creating a safe and healthy environment. Our vision is to commit to fostering a higher quality of life for youth and families.
YES was founded in 1987 and serves all of the communities and school districts in the Town Of Islip. Programs include tutoring, mentoring, after school programs, drop out and violence prevention programs, work readiness and job placement services, recreation, summer programs, etc. Our Youth Leadership Project is for youth with physical, developmental and sensory disabilities who are matched with peer mentors to help improve their independent living skills, socialization skills, advocacy skills and to ensure successful mainstreaming and inclusion at community and afterschool and weekend events and activities.
