South Suburban ABE

It is very difficult for one to complete day to day tasks when they cannot speak the language of the area they are living. Help individuals coming from various backgrounds learn English by becoming a tutor.

Volunteer and serve under the direction of a certified classroom instructor. Training and support is provided to all volunteers. Classes of various times and subjects are in need of your help!

South Suburban Adult Basic Education (SSABE) is committed to providing adults with educational opportunities to acquire and improve the literacy skills necessary to be self-sufficient and to participate effectively as productive workers, family members, and citizens.

Description

Under the direction of a certified teacher, South Suburban Adult Basic Education volunteer tutors provide literacy services for adults who need to build their basic skills, study English as a Second Language or prepare for a GED or United States Citizenship.
