COMPASSIONATE CARE HOSPICE IS LOOKING FOR ORDINARY PEOPLE TO DO EXTRAORDINARY THINGS!

Compassionate Care Hospice provides comfort care for persons in the final stages of life. We are a community based organization committed to providing the highest quality of hospice care to patients and their families.

Volunteers play an important role in the hospice program. The support they provide to patients and their families helps enhance the patient's QUALITY OF LIFE and gives RELIEF to their caregivers.

If you have some time to share, we would love for you to volunteer in one of these areas:



HOW CAN YOU HELP OUR PATIENTS LIVING AT HOME OR IN A NURSING HOME:



Visiting patients and providing companionship



Respite for family members and caregivers



Music Therapy -

Musicians and singers visit hospice patients in their homes or homelike setting to provide comfort through their music.




Pet Therapy -

Pet Therapy teams visit patients/families and provide comfort measures through contact with the pet.

We Honor Veterans program -

*Assist Veterans in reminiscing/telling life stories.

*Take part in pinning ceremonies or distribute certificates for Veterans Day and other recognition events ;Play an instrument or sing during a pinning ceremony.

* Assist in replacing lost medals.


Background checks and training are a requirement of the program.

IF YOU HAVE A GROUP THAT WOULD LIKE TO HELP US, THESE ARE THE FOLLOWING AREAS WHERE WE COULD REALLY USE SUPPORT:

****Make Prayer shaws, blankets,pillows and other crafty things

****Organize quilting/knitting/crocheting nights to make comfort items for our patients

**** Community outreach within churches and social groups to assist with volunteer recruitment for our program.

We foster genuine personal connections that offer emotional, psychological and spiritual support - taking an active role in the interests that bring joy.

For patients, we work specifically to help you achieve your personal goals and to bring joy, comfort, and fulfillment into every moment possible. Patients on our service may continue current treatments, especially those focused on improving quality of life.

This strong system of support also extends to our patients’ families, providing them resources and support throughout this journey.
