** All volunteers must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Proof of vaccination is required. Mask policy fluctuates, based on recommendation from our Chief Medical Officer.

Your volunteer impact in this role is vital to blood donations. As a Donor Greeter, you are the first face donors see. By greeting and checking in donors you assist staff greatly. Staff may train you to Register Donors also. The impact to our donor services staff through this volunteer role supports the services we provide to our donors and community. Visiting with and thanking our donors, you will also oversee the Canteen area when time allows.

Volunteer Needs:


Orientation and Training at the Macomb Donor Center
Must be at least 18, willing to commit to 6 months or longer, comfortable using computers.

Description

The Blood Center is a volunteer-based organization that involves volunteer blood donors, a voluntary board of trustees, and community volunteers. Volunteers provide a much needed and valued service to our donors, patients and staff. We serve over 115 hospitals in 4 states and utilize volunteers from many areas to assist in our operations. Headquarters for the organization, as well as component processing, is located in Davenport, Iowa.
