ORGANIZATION: Corning Museum of Glass

CMOG Docent

Gallery Guides (volunteer tour guides) provide a valuable service to the Museum and to the wider community by volunteering their time to give tours to adults, families, and school groups. They inspire visitors from around the world to see the art, history, and science of glass in a new light.

We’re looking for gallery guides who:

  • Enjoy interacting with the public
  • Have a passion for the Museum and the surrounding area
  • Have a desire to meet new people and get involved in their community

Training
In order to delight our visitors and provide engaging experiences with our collections, Gallery Guides receive free in-depth training including insights into how people learn in museums. In addition to furthering their education in the art, history, and science of glass, Gallery Guides will also receive lessons in curatorial education, hot glass programming, and Studio programs

Plus, we're happy to treat our Gallery Guides to several great benefits as a token of our thanks. Benefits include complimentary Museum membership and invitations to special events, admission to conferences and seminars, and discounts to the Museum Shops and onsite restaurants.
