Gain fulfillment! The companion volunteer will provide companionship and socialization by visiting the hospice patient who is either in his/her private home, an assisted living facility or nursing home.
Volunteers will do a variety of enjoyable activities such as reading, playing music or games, listening to the patient's stories, and doing puzzles. For home-based patisnts, volunteers can also do light housekeeping, offer support and comfort to families, and provide relief by sitting with patients so that family members can run errands, keep appointments, etc.
