Every day the library staff runs a report of Library items that have been requested by patrons. We're looking for volunteers to come in once a week for 2 hours on either WEDNESDAY OR THURSDAY from Noon to 2:00pm to work on the pick list report.
The volunteer uses the pick list report to find items that include requests for books, magazines, movies and music CDs. Located items are removed from the shelf and placed on a book cart that is delivered to staff who process the items.
This position requires an ability to distinguish alphabetical and numerical order, walk, stand, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time, ability to push a fully loaded book cart (45 pounds), and visual acuity to read the pick list and material labels.
If you are patient and inquisitive, this is a great opportunity for you! Volunteering in this position enables you to utilize your organizational skills, learn about library operations, and get to know a great group of people.
