The 2018 hurricane season has been extraordinarily active in parts of the U.S., with Hurricane Florence currently impacting millions in the Carolinas. As this natural disaster unfolds, the staff here at VolunteerMatch is doing its part to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you are prepared and safe. Courthouse tour guides give guided tours of the historic County Courthouse every Friday and Saturday at 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30, and we are looking for more tour guides to join our team! Our greatest need is currently Friday tour guides.
Constructed in 1910, the historic courthouse marks the middle of Georgetown's historic town square. Landmark trials such as Dan Moody's famous 1923 prosecution of a Ku Klux Klan member have occured there, and it's architecture reflects the Beaux-Arts style of the early 20th century.
