Please note: This opportunity is in the Troup County, Georgia area.
A child in foster care on average has 5 different foster homes in their first 12 months in foster care! That's 5 different houses, 5 different families that they don't know, 5 different schools, 5 different sets of friends, etc.! Don't forget about the abused and neglect that they experienced in the first place. The turmoil is unreal. A CASA volunteer is the ONE CONSTANT in that child's life. Please consider volunteering and simply speaking up for these children's needs and being their voice!
Every year more than half a million abused and neglected children are in need of safe, permanent, nurturing homes. Too many spend years moving from one temporary home to another. They have no family to call their own. They are more likely than other children to face homelessness, unemployment, even prison as adults. That's where CASA steps in.
CASA of Troup County, Inc. advocates for the best interests of abused and neglected children within the court system. Our belief is that every child is entitled to a safe, stable, and permanent home. We provide screened, trained, and supervised volunteers who speak for the needs of these children, one child at a time. As trained advocates, CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to be a voice for these children in court. The result is that a child is placed into a safe, loving home where he/she can thrive and has a voice!

Mission Statement
The mission of CASA is to speak for the best interests of abused and neglected children in the courts. We promote and support quality volunteer representation for children to provide each child a safe, permanent, nurturing home.
Description
Every year more than half a million abused and neglected children are in need of safe, permanent, nurturing homes. That's where CASA steps in. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) was created in 1977 to make sure the abuse and neglect these children originally suffered at home doesn't continue as abuse and neglect at the hands of the system. As trained advocates, CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to be a voice for these children in court. The result is that a child is placed into a safe, loving home where he/she can thrive. It is the CASA vision to provide a volunteer for each and every abused and neglected child who needs one.
