Imagine living your entire life independently and then one day you're required to give up your car keys, the source of your transportation. How will you get to the grocery store, the doctor, to church? Clients of Drive A Senior-South Austin, a 501c3 nonprofit, have a resource available. We provide a supportive network of personalized and individualized services to senior's age 65 and older at no charge. Volunteers are needed who enjoy this population to serve as drivers, office volunteers, and committee and board members. There are no minimum or maximum time commitments; you decide based upon your availability and geographical preferences and self-assign yourself on our web-based scheduling system! Easy and fun! Hear lots of good stories, plenty of 'thank you's.' Let your children share in the experience of having a senior friend!

Drive a Senior provides vital transportation services to registered clients who reside in the Austin area. You can make a difference in a senior's life by helping them remain independent in their own communities!
Description
Enabling seniors to remain independent in their own community is the mission of Drive a Senior. Transportation to medical appointments and other services is a vital need for seniors that have given up their car keys for whatever reason. Our services are provided at no charge and are individualized and personalized by screened and oriented volunteers who offer a friendly smile and a listening heart to our grateful clients.
