Emerald Coast Hospice is seeking a licensed hair stylist willing to volunteer 1-2 days per month to cut patient's hair. Volunteer will serve patients in home and in facilities. Most cuts consist of trimming hair off neck, ears, and out of eyes. (usually nothing EXTREMELY fashionable) Patients hair will be clean & washed (if at all possible) prior to stylist arrival. No color, perms or excessive product use will be necessary. This service is for hospice patients who are home & or bed-bound who can not get to salon or barbershop.

Description

Emerald Coast Hospice is a not-for-profit hospice organization who truly believes that every moment matters in the lives of our patients. Our volunteers are an incredible asset to our organization - and ultimately to our patients.

Some volunteers assist with office tasks such as mailing, assembling packets of literature and documents, scanning, phone calls and filing. Others work directly with patients - including emotional support, companionship, spiritual support and caregiver relief. Volunteers may also provide socialization and support such as reading to patients, playing games, assisting with letter writing and journaling.

The volunteer program is very flexible and can easily be built around your own schedule. There are no specific time committments for our volunteers and there is always something to be done to help!

Veteran volunteers are especially welcome as we strive to meet the needs of a multitude of veteran patients.

Our volunteers help ensure that every moment REALLY does matter.
