Veterinary Services Support

At this time, we are being charged over $35,000/yr for veterinary services alone. These services include shots, heart-worm tests, spay/neuter, and regular or emergency check-ups for our dogs and cats. As a non-profit no-kill animal shelter, this is quickly draining our finances. We have an isolation room complete with a stainless steel surgical table as well as some basic equipment.

We are looking for a veterinarian or vet assistant who is willing to donate about 2 hours a week (sometimes a little more, sometimes less) to administer shots and blood tests to our animals and to check out our new arrivals. Please email us if you would like additional information. Thanks!

Mission Statement

Ward-Wiseman Animal Haven is a 501 c 3, non-profit, no-kill Animal Shelter located in Collinsville, Oklahoma. We operate solely off of the wonderful generosity of the volunteers, individuals, and organizations within, and outside of, our community. The donations we receive help to cover our operations and operational costs, and provide food, shelter & medical care to the animals we rescue.

Description

In August, 2004, the Friends of the Collinsville Animal Shelter (F.O.C.A.S.) was organized by several concerned citizens to build a no-kill animal shelter in Collinsville, OK. This modern facility would replace a run-down cinderblock Animal Control pen that the city had been using for years. Dogs that were captured were given three days to live, cats were euthanized almost immediately. For four years, FOCAS volunteers fund- and friend-raised in and out of our community and brought in over $50,000 in donations. Finally, in January, 2008, the Ward-Wiseman Animal Haven had its grand opening. Named for Dr. Lincoln Ward (a Collinsville veterinarian) and Father Bill Wiseman, both of who died in tragic accidents, the WWAH has runs and crates to house up to 14 dogs and 12 cats. Since our grand opening, we have adopted out or returned to their owners almost 350 dogs and cats. We continue to operate 100% through donations and volunteer efforts.
