Someone I Love Needs a Cure

The Walk to Defeat ALS is an opportunity to bring hope to people living with ALS, to raise money for local services and a cure, and to come together for something you care about. A non-competitive event, participants can choose from either a 1 mile or 3 mile route.

Volunteers are needed for a variety of jobs including: set-up and break-down, registration, t-shirt distribution, snacks/water, face painting, raffle, games, photographers, etc. To view a list of complete opportunities for the event, and to sign up to become a volunteer, please see below.

OUR MISSION: Leading the fight to treat and cure ALS through global research and nationwide advocacy while also empowering people with Lou Gehrig's Disease and their families to live fuller lives by providing them with compassionate care and support.

Description

The Chapter provides programs and services to patients and their families in Eastern Missouri as well as Central and Southern Illinois. Programs and services include: patient education, nutritional supplement program, equipment loan, augmentative communication equipment and assistive technology program, respite care, transportation program, family mentor program, share list, pen pal program for children 5-17 years of age
