Volunteer for the Norfolk Animal Care and Adoption Center! Volunteers are vital for our ability to provide the highest quality care and best adoption opportunities for our resident animals. Here are the ways in which we need your help:

Scrub-a-dub-dub! Help with morning feeding and cleaning. You'll get instant gratification, and feel a sense of pride as you'll be the reason our resident animals start their day off on the right paw: comfortable and clean. Then, reward yourself by providing the animals with enrichment/socialization.

Continuing Care: Help us maintain a clean, welcoming environment for the animals and quality customer service for the humans. This position requires an ability to multi-task and be a self-starter with a warm smile and a positive, energetic attitude towards people. Continuing Care volunteers are responsible for keeping the animals' environment healthy by spot-cleaning, cleaning kennels when animals get adopted, assisting with behind-the-scenes housekeeping and by providing enrichment for the animals.

Foster Care: Save lives just by donating space in your home and a few weeks of your time for animals who need more time to prepare for the animal shelter environment by getting physically or behaviorally healthier.

Make Homemade Toys/Blankets for the Animals...or coordinate a Supplies Drive: A great way for you to help our animals, right from your own home or office! Please be sure to contact the Volunteer Manager for details on making toys according to our safety & disease prevention standards.
