Community theater needs ushers for top quality performances

The Historic Baldwin Theatre

Stagecrafters, one of the leading community theaters in the Detroit area, is always looking for ushers for its upcoming productions. Just bring a friendly and helpful attitude!

Orientation is given on the date of your chosen performance(s).

Ushering is a fun way to meet new people and see a great show -- for FREE!

Friday and Saturday performances are usually at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday matinees are usually at 2:00 p.m. (Check online schedule to be certain) Some Thursdays, also at 8:00 pm. Once you pick your desired performance(s), go to: http://bit.ly/2EvymbJ to sign up (SignUpGenius).

Ushers are expected to arrive one hour before curtain. Job duties include: showing patrons to their seats, helping to pour coffee and set out snacks during intermission, picking up programs, etc., after the show.

Ushers are expected to wear a white shirt and black skirt or slacks.

Mission Statement

Stagecrafters' goal is to provide an opportunity for members of the community in an atmosphere of fellowship to develop their talents and to volunteer their time to create an enriching quality theatrical experience for the community; to encourage and promote the public interest in dramatics, music, dance, and other performing arts; to further the education of its membership and the community at large in performing arts.


Performing, dancing, singing, directing, producing, costuming. Set building, "running" lights, "running" sound, teaching choreography, working with Stagecrafters Youth Theatre and fundraising to name a few.
