Prescott Area Shelter Services

Prescott Area Shelter Services relies on volunteers to open its doors each night.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Advocates - Work from 5-8pm providing supervision and companionship for shelter guests to maintain a safe and supportive atmosphere. Duties vary from overseeing chores and providing hygiene supplies to implementing appropriate problem-solving, life skills, and behavior management strategies. Overall, the essential goal of an advocate is to be a positive source of encouragement and compassion for our guests.

Overnight Advocates - Work from 8pm-8am, sleeping with guests, providing supervision, making sure all chores are completed and shelter is locked by 8am. (This position receives a $60 stipend/per night)

Shelter Meal Providers - Bring a fully prepared meal (no stove on-site) for 20 people at 5:30pm. Meal Providers are encouraged to stay and eat with guests.

To serve women, children, and veterans by providing temporary housing, resources, individualized case management, and a pathway to permanent housing.

Description

The shelter is open 365 days of the year from 5pm-8am. Our shelter provides beds, meals and hygiene supplies as well as case management and community resources. Guests can stay up to 90 days and PASS has a 90% successful transition rate into permanent housing.
