Help us increase access to healthy food and decrease food waste! Food Rescue of Northwest Michigan, a program collaboration of Goodwill, in partnership with grocers, bakeries, farms, etc. picks up perishable food and distributes it among food pantries and community meal-site locations. Our Food Rescue drivers could use your help. You can check out our volunteer schedule here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1KKbn-aOPZtRU4oPcJZxl4BZluy2kPJGz-vNzE1-jmPo/edit#gid=1777689809
Our routes all leave from 2889 Aeropark Dr. (just west off 3-Mile) at 6:45 am. The duration of the route depends on what route and day you choose to volunteer.
Riding on the truck is a wonderful experience. Each day varies in the amount and type of food we get out, but there is one constant - we get out the food on the same day to pantries and meal-sites. We get to work with great people at the stores and at the food pantries, and you'll get to know them too on our route. There is a lot involved in a route and we are sure you will be amazed at the amount of food and the hard work being done to make this program work.
We look forward to having you out on the truck with us.
We'll work with your schedule.
