Court Advocates provide assistance to the staff of the Family Justice Center. Court Advocates support to clients filing Domestic Violence Protective Orders (DVPO), provide emotional support in criminal and civil court, and assistance navigating through the court system.

The mission of the Durham Crisis Response Center is to work with the community to end domestic and sexual violence through advocacy, support, education and prevention.
Description
Durham Crisis Response Center offers services to victims of domestic and sexual violence, including a 24-hour, confidential crisis line, short-term emergency shelter, hospital and court accompaniment, weekly legal clinics with local attorneys, support groups, short-term individual counseling, and referrals for job training, housing, childcare and other community services--all direct services are offered to the community free of charge. We also offer educational workshops and professional training for service providers, churches, schools, police, hospitals, civic groups and other community members.
