Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Midlands: Start the process at home virtually --> transition to in-person meetings when the pandemic has ended.

Now more than ever, young people need friendly and supportive mentors during this scary and confusing period. Community-Based Mentoring matches usually meet in-person at varying locations and times. Due to COVID-19, all matches are encouraged to meet virtually until further notice.

Description

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Midlands has been providing one-to-one mentoring in the Omaha metro area since 1959. In 2018, we provided nearly 1,200 children with a Big Brother, Big Sister or Big Couple. Our community-based mentoring initiatives provide mentors to 600+ children in the Omaha and Council Bluffs metro area.

  • Driver's License Needed
  • Background Check
  • Must be at least 19
  • Orientation or Training
  • - ALL mentors must commit to at least *ONE YEAR* - 2 outings per month (total of 4 hours per month) - **Mentors must have ability to meet in-person once COVID-19 social distancing ends.**
  • At least 19 years old, High school diploma; current auto-insurance and regular access to a car; willingness to grow.
