Acclaimed Non Profit Production Company, WET Productions, is currently seeking a photographer to donate their time on a Saturday afternoon to take photos during our city-wide, outreach empowerment program for teenage girls. It is a an extremely rewarding and creative way to give back to a program that empowers young women.

WET's Risk Takers Series is a free, citywide, media-literacy and leadership program for teenage girls that brings inspiring women in media face to face with teenage girls. Past guest artists who have participated in the program have included Frances McDormand, Kerry Washington, Keri Russell, Mary-Louise Parker, Ally Sheedy, Olympia Dukakis, Lili Taylor, Audra McDonald, Judy Marte, Nicole Holofcener, Kate Lanier, Maria Maggenti and Gina Prince-Bythewood among many others.

Risk Takers uses film as a launching pad for discussion, teaching girls invaluable communication tools in a trusted environment, enabling them to distinguish empowering risks from damaging risks, as well as providing a media-literacy component that teaches them how to become critical thinkers, media savvy and internet safe. By learning leadership and media literacy skills, the young women are equipped to navigate the 21st century landscape with safety, awareness, intelligence and courage. Now entering its sixth year, Risk Takers has saved hundreds of teen girls from dangerous & abusive relationships, drugs & alcohol abuse, teen pregnancies, HIV/AIDS, rape, unsafe-sex and suicide. An important component of the program is the participation of guest artists from each film screened, who provide needed and invaluable inspiration to the girls in an afternoon Q&A.

We are looking for a photographer to shoot the program and the Q&A, which is approximately a
4 hour time commitment from 12:30pm-4:30pm on any one (or more!) of the following Saturdays: February 27th, March 20th, April 17th, May 20th. This would be a donation of your time, however we would include your logo and link on our website and provide you with a tax write off. Plus we can guarantee you will have a very fulfilling time! If you are interested but not available for the entire 4 hours, please let us know as we may be able to accommodate.

If you are interested in this opportunity, please email Ashley at assistant@wetproductions.org or call 212-682-0265. For more information on the program and WET, please visit our website at www.productions.org.

WET's RISK TAKERS FILM SERIES , WET's EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM:

WET's Risk Takers Film Series uses film as a launching pad for discussion to teach girls how to look at the media with a critical eye, and to distinguish empowering risks from damaging risks. The program is designed to bolster girls' self-esteem, and provide them with communication and leadership tools to support their dreams and give them the steps needed to make their dreams come true. Now in its fifth year, WET's Risk Takers is helping hundreds of New York City teenage girls address and investigate issues of peer pressure, body image, eating disorders, sexuality, drugs, alcohol, racism, sexism, harassment, teen pregnancy, safe sex and more. An exciting component of the program is the participation of the celebrated female guest artists who are emblematic female Risk Takers in the media. Guest artists include: Frances McDormand, Mary-Louise Parker, Kerry Washington, Olympia Dukakis, Audra McDonald, to name just a few. Kelly McGillis (The Accused), Alison Lohman (White Oleander), Lili Taylor (Girlstown), and Nikki Blonsky (Hairspray) participated in the 2008 program.
