Volunteers are needed in the Ronald McDonald Family Room, located in Carilion Clinic Children's Hospital, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Duties include answering the phone, registering guests, maintaining a clean and orderly room, make coffee and restock snacks and provide a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
Volunteer needs to complete a Ronald McDonald House Charities application (www.rmhc-swva.org) and a Carilion Clinic application, take a flu shot each year, do a TB test, background check and do a drug screening (all paid for by Carilion). Must complete on-site training by RMHC Volunteer Coordinator. Volunteer must be 18 years or older.

Four 3-hour shifts per day starting at 9 a.m., 12 p.m., 3 p.m. 6 p.m. for the Family Room.

RMHC makes an immediate, positive impact on children's lives through its global network of local Chapters in 52 countries and its three core programs: the Ronald McDonald House, Ronald McDonald Family Room and Ronald McDonald Care Mobile. These programs provide a bridge to accessible health care and allow families more time together, which help in the healing process. RMHC and its global network of local Chapters also have awarded more than $460 million in grants and program services to children's programs around the world.
