Pacific Wildlife Care has a wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Morro Bay which serves all of SLO County. There are many volunteer opportunities, including:
CLINIC VOLUNTEERS - helping in the wildlife rehabilitation clinic. Much of it is housekekeping tasks to support the animals; some hands-on opportunities come with time and training.
HOTLINE VOLUNTEERS: from home or cell-phone, check the hotline for calls from the public regarding sick, orphaned or injured animals and arrange transport to the Rehab Center. Training available
TRANSPORTERS - bring injured animals to the Rehab Center - requires CA Driver's License and Insurance.
