About

Vigil Volunteers provide a caring Bedside Presence and Emotional Support during a Patient's last hours of life as well as to be there to support the Patient's Loved Ones during this time of transition. Vigil volunteering takes place in Nursing Facilities or in Patients' Private Homes throughout the Chicagoland Suburban Area.

Vigil Volunteers really make a difference -and- help ensure that no Patient dies alone.

Heartland Hospice serves Patients in the North and Northwest suburbs. Contact the Volunteer Coordinator at Heartland Hospice's Northbrook Office for more details on becoming a Vigil Volunteer.

Men and Women who are Bi-lingual or Multi-lingual (Spanish, Polish, Russian, etc.), Individuals are or who seek Careers in the Medical Field, Retired Folks, Students/Graduate Students, and People who want to make a positive difference in the Community are welcome and encouraged to apply.
