What do a diving board, phonograph, pogo stick, and 889 tires have in common?
They have all been pulled out of the Potomac River Watershed in the last few years.
Let's Take Pride in our Potomac and join us on Saturday April 22, 2023 from 8:45 a.m. to 12 Noon.
Pre-registration is mandatory at www.nps.gov/gree
Greenbelt Park is one of three -hundred sites along the Potomac River watershed.
Come rain or shine and please wear appropriate clothing, wear tick repellant, and bring work gloves.
\Under 18? Please bring a volunteer application signed by a parent or guardian.
Student service hours can be earned on this project.

Mission Statement
The National Park Service Volunteers-In-Parks Program (VIP) was authorized by Public Law 91-357 enacted 1970.
The primary purpose of the VIP program is to provide a vehicle through which the National Park Service can accept and utilize voluntary help and services from the public. The major objective of the program is to utilize this voluntary help in such a way that is mutually beneficial to the National Park Service and the volunteer.
Description
Greenbelt Park is a retreat from the pressures of city life and a refuge for native plants and animals just twelve miles from the White House and Capitol.
The Greenbelt volunteer program has many opportunities to be a part of helping a National Park.
Opportunities include Campground host, invasive plant removal partner, park cleanups, and trail partner. The park also hosts the Potomac Watershed Cleanup (April), National Park Week Volunteer Day (April), National Trails Day (June),Public Lands Day (September) and REI Volunteer days (throughout the year).
