Join our mission of helping non-English speaking adults to learn English. This is an opportunity to become part of a concerned group of people who offer to train, coach and provide materials so you can in turn teach adult learners basic English skills and beyond! You set the hour, day and time convenient for you and your student. To learn more information about our organization PLEASE VISIT OUR WEBSITE At dvlc4esl.org
Other helping opportunities are also available! Please call or send us a e-mail inquiry for more information.

YOU CAN CHANGE A LIFE!
During these times of shelter-in-place you can still tutor students who have access on-line. Many students have computers and smart phones. You may meet with your student through zoom. There are students willing and waiting for tutors. A virtual training workshop is scheduled February 27 and March 6, 2021.
BECOME a TUTOR - No teaching experience is necessary and English need not be your first language. You will help non-English speaking adults to learn the English language. Our organization will teach you how to be a tutor! We will train you, match you to a student and help you get started with your one-on-one tutoring. We ask that you commit one or two hours per week -- all meetings are arranged by you and your student at a time most convenient for both of you. Through your tutoring you may help an adult student to get a better job, apply for citizenship, read to their children....there are so many possibilities!
Diablo Valley Literacy Council holds two workshops per year at the Good Lutheran Shepherd Church on Clayton Road. The workshops are held the spring and fall and open enrollment year around.
The next workshop is Saturday, September 24, 2016 (from 9 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. ) and Saturday, October 1, 2016 (from 9 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.).
A small registration fee will help cover the cost of the workshop and training materials.
Please come join us. You can change a life!
