Book Drive Volunteer Opportunity!

We are in need of hosting one-time or weekly book drives in the community as a way to collect new and used books and then redistribute them in form of Lending Libraries to our school partners sites and organizations serving at-risk and/or low-income population all over San Diego County.

Volunteers will be conducting the following tasks:

Secure a venue for the book drive.

* Assist with flyer development and distribute to promote book drive

* Recruit volunteers to assist with collection the day of the book drive

* Count the number of books collected

* Arrange to deliver books to Words Alive office or to have them picked up if necessary

Words Alive will provide a book drive kit. Our book needs are as follows:

At this time we only accept books that are appropriate ages 0-18.

Unfortunately, Words Alive does not have a way to repurpose the following:

• Text books
• Reference books
• Travel guides
• Overly worn or damaged books (broken spine, torn pages, completed puzzles, etc.)
• Religious books
