Friendly visitor volunteers needed to support patients with terminal illnesses and their familities; offering companionship, running errands, reading comforting poems or payers, etc.

Clerical volunteers needed to assist with general office duties; filing, making copies, preparing mailings, assembling admission packets, data entry, etc.
Heartland Hospice has been awarded a level II status in the "We Honor Veterans" Program. We are actively recruiting Veteran Volunteers to pair with hospice patients who have been identified as Veterans. Once paired with hospice patients who also have military experience, Veteran Volunteers have the unique ability to relate and connect with each patient thereby creating an environment where life review and healing may occur. Mission Statement
The mission of ProMedica Hospice is to provide quality hospice care to patients with a limited life expectancy as well as support to their caregivers. Hospice care is provided by an interdisciplinary team such as Nurses, Social Workers, Chaplain and Volunteers, utilizing an approach to the care delivered to patients either in their own home or extended care facility.
Description
At ProMedica we depend on our hospice volunteers to help us provide the love, respect and care our patients and their families need. Some volunteers interact directly with patients and families while others prefer to work behind the scenes in the office setting. As a volunteer you would help us decide which tasks you are comfortable performing.
*We suggest that volunteers make appropriate adjustments after significant loses in their lives and wait a minimum of one year following the death of a loved one to volunteer.
