Volunteers at Seasons Hospice Inpatient Center in Wauwatosa serve both patients and families.
Activities might include socializing with the patient and/or family, listening to a life review with the patient, reading to or writing for the patient; playing games; running errands; playing music; providing support to family members, being a silent presence bedside, and assisting with administrative tasks.
A volunteer may have the option to do administrative tasks and family greeting, without doing patient visits.
Training classes are offered to provide help in making every visit a good one.

SEASONS HOSPICE's vision is to: Recognize that individuals and families are the true experts in their own care - Support our staff so they can put our patients and families first - Find creative solutions which add quality to life - Strive for excellence beyond accepted standards - Increase the community's awareness of hospice as part of the continuum of care
Hospice is a vision of caring that gives patients with terminal illness choices about how they spend the last days of their lives. Volunteers fill a unique roll in supporting the patient and family as they are the one member of the team whose role is to simply be there for them-- no poking or prodding, no giving medicines or taking temperatures-- the volunteer is there to provide a comforting presence and practical support.
