You will be the "Volunteers' Volunteer" by being the organized point of contact for prospective and existing volunteers. You will maintain contact information, and interests. Make sure we are recognizing and thanking our volunteers so everyone knows their work is appreciated. We have a great team of volunteers, maybe 20-30 steady plus 40 or more who pop in sometimes. But we are not great at following up when we haven't heard from someone or making sure new volunteers are included in our various activities. Today we don't have a volunteer coordinator, so you will make the role your own! If you like connecting with people and are a bit organized, this is a great fit. And if you have an interest in local heritage, well that's what we do, so we'll probably lure you in to being part of some of our wire range of projects.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Livermore Heritage Guild is to ensure awareness and protection of Livermore's rich heritage through public advocacy and by collecting, preserving, interpreting, and sharing historic resources for the education and enjoyment of all. Our motto is " Saving Yesterday For Tomorrow" and our logo is a drawing of the historic Southern Pacific Railroad Depot.
Description
The Livermore Heritage Guild is Livermore's historical society. We maintain a collection of historic archives and artifacts, along with a newspaper index, oral histories, maps and many other resources for exploring Livermore's heritage.
In addition, we operate a history mobile to take history instruction to the schools, have restored three of Livermore's historic fire trucks, and operate two historic sites and a museum. Our headquarters is in the historic Carnegie Library building at 3rd and South J streets in downtown Livermore and includes a small museum as well as our research material and collection. One historic site is the Duarte Garage and Lincoln Highway Museum on Portola and North L Streets. We open the garage monthly for visitors as we continue restoration and exhibit work there. Our other site is the 5 acre Hagemann Ranch, listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
There is a wide range of projects going at any given time, please join us!
