Hospice volunteers work with the living! and enhance their quality of life every day! Special teams such as the Angel Program - offers companionship so no one dies alone; working with the Alzheimer's population; Tuck In Calling - offering support for the patient or caregiver each evening or the Bereavement Team who offers support to the family after the passing of the loved one. Specific training equips the volunteer to provide non-medical patient care and family support.

Description

Hospice offers peace and comfort to patients and their families by reducing the stress, pain and other symptoms of a serious illness. Hospice care includes medical, emotional, social and spiritual support.

Many believe hospice is only for the final days or hours of life. This is not true. Hospice is not about dying; it's about helping patients and their families live as well as they can when life expectancy is limited.
