Volunteer at Award-Winning Theater and Educational Institution in NYC that Serves Homeless Children!

Help build the community by contributing your unique skills and talents to help change people’s lives at The Actors Theatre Workshop. This award-winning non-profit theater, community center and educational institution teaches innovative educational techniques and theater principles to adults and children from all walks of life. ATW was founded by Thurman E. Scott, an award-winning actor, writer, and director who has dedicated his life to helping others develop their gifts as individuals and fulfill their unique creative potential.

You can volunteer at ATW and be a part of this powerful vision! You’ll receive classes in our unique creative training process, which help individuals develop new insights and achieve greater personal and professional success. By contributing your professional expertise and supporting the Builders of the New World, our theater and education program for homeless children and at-risk youth, you will become a part of a diverse community of individuals helping to break down the walls of cultural difference.

Join us for Information and Registration Session on January 23rd at 2:00 pm to learn more about this unique organization and how you can make a difference. After completing a Volunteer Application, you’ll have the opportunity at the Info Session to be interviewed for a volunteer position. ATW's mission is to teach individuals from all walks of life original creative techniques that provides them with the tools to change and to create new, original theatre that examines the conflicts that have emerged form today's cultural mix and creates hope for the fulfillment in the human experience.

Description

Founded over two decades ago, the Actors Theatre Workshop is an established pioneer in non-profit theatre that produces classical and contemporary plays, develops new dramatic works, trains and develops actors, directors and writers while making a difference in the lives of at-risk youth and the community at large. Thurman E. Scott, ATW's artistic director, Executive Producer and Founder, is a widely acknowledged expert of artistic project development, an innovator of award-winning arts curriculums and programs for proffessional artistic training, and has a long and successful history of public service to culturaly under-served communities.
