The Sno-Isle Library system has branches all over the county. You can volunteer at the one closest to your home or where you work or whatever is convenient for you! Here are a few of the jobs;
Shelf Auditor - Volunteer will audit the library shelves to ensure books are in correct location by call number. Shelf reading can be performed at any time during the library's open hours.
This job is done while there are people using the library.
NOTE-This job is for a detail oriented person. It requires getting on a step stool if need be to read top shelves and bending, squatting and sitting to audit the low shelves. This task requires reading small print on call number labels. On some items it is also necessary to read the title and the author's name. Must be flexible and able to work well with others.
Hold List Volunteer- Volunteer works from list of items (books, DVDs, CDs, magazines) requested by users of all Sno Isle branches. Volunteer locates item in the library and puts it on a cart for library staff to process. This job is done while there are people using the library.
Note-This job may require overhead reaching and bending low depending on the item's location. This task requires reading small print on call number labels. Holds lists are generated at certain times of the day and this task must be performed according to a set schedule.

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Snohomish County matches skills/training and preferences of persons 55+ to available volunteer opportunities and promotes their voluntary service as a valuable community resource.
Description
RSVP matches personal interests, skills and lifelong experiences with non-profit public organizations at over 116 different partner agencies, including non-profits, throughout the county. Benefits of being an RSVP volunteer are: ~excess insurance coverage including Liability, Auto, and Accident. ~partial reimbursement for transporatation costs to and from volunteer stations, subject to certain regulations and limits. ~ongoing recognition and Annual Recognition Event to RSVP volunteers. The only agency tracking and reporting the volunteer activities of persons age 55 and older through the National Senior Corps, RSVP promotes retired and senior persons as viable members of the community, able to share their skills, time and experience through volunteer service.
