Board Member

As we expand our services and programs, Chosen Abilities Resource Center, Inc. is revamping our Board and seeking to add a few committed, well-connected, members to join our family. Chosen Abilities Resource Center, Inc. is a growing organization, positively affecting the lives of Dekalb County and surrounding counties and now expanding to our new location, Huntsville, Alabama. Our services are dedicated to the homeless and low-income children and families, women and children escaping domestic violence and immigrants and refugees. Our mission is to strengthen and unify communities through Empowerment, Encouragement and Education.

Board Members will serve to advise, govern, oversee policy and direction, and assist with the leadership , fiscal development and general promotion of the Organization as to support its mission and needs.

Board Member Duties:

* To participate actively in fundraising.

* Assist in resource development identifying potential donors or funding sources.

* Must be able to contribute by (Give or Get) $2,500 annually either by individual donation or corporate solicitations.

Individuals will be passionate about Chosen Abilities Resource Center and possess a track record of board leadership.

Person will have experience with leadership in business, government, philanthropy or the non profit sector.

Skills for cultivating relationships and persuading, coinvening, facilitating and building consensus among diverse individuals is essential.

Chosen Abilities Resource Center, Inc. was formed August 2007 with the impulse of addressing an acute awareness of the many troubles and challenges facing underprivileged and disadvantaged youth and adult population.

Chosen Abilities Resource Center, Inc.'s goal is to provide families and children with the necessary resources and services needed to gain self-sufficient living in a community of dignity, integrity, and respect. The creation of the Organization is to serve youth and adults who are facing difficulties and hardships. We believe all people should have the opportunity to reshape their lives and engage in programs that will enhance their abilities to become successful in their communities. We believe the community will find value in the services that will be provided and the ongoing efforts to contribute to the needs of families. Chosen Abilities Resource Center, Inc. will offer a broad range of services that aim to allow children in our community to take advantage of the educational and learning opportunities created by professional staff and volunteers.

Chosen Abilities Resource Center, Inc. is organized to provide economically disadvantaged youth, adults, and elders with an opportunity to receive leadership training, self-sufficiency programs, computer training, and needed social services to help acquire marketable skills toward personal achievement.
