----------------------

ARWOB is urgently searching for volunteers to foster one of our animals in their homes.

What is fostering? Essentially it means opening up your home for one of our rescues to provide them with day-to-day care. This will likely include feeding them, giving them exercise, love, and possibly rehabilitation if not more. ARWOB will provide our foster homes with all the daily essentials needed for keeping an animal in their home. We give all our foster homes food, toys, litter, crates, beds, leashes, collars and any other supplies required for the complete and proper care of our rescues. All animals are vaccinated and de-wormed before placement and are almost always micro-chipped as well.

We are looking for foster homes that are extremely dedicated and committed towards helping our animals thrive before adoption. ARWOB will perform a homecheck prior to placing our animals, so essentially your home must also live up to the standards of an adoptable home. Once we have completed the home check, you have the privilege of choosing one (or more) of our animals to foster.

We are small rescue organization with a staff of a few dedicated volunteers. While most of our animals do stay in foster homes in Mexico (where most of our dogs are rescued), they are usually and initially housed together in groups, preventing their foster moms and dads from giving them the one-on-one attention they need and deserve. We need to find them fosters in the United States so that they can get that one-on-one time, but also so that we can open up space for another unfortunate animal. We ask that you foster an animal for a minimum of 2 weeks, but the most rewarding experience is watching your foster grow and eventually get adopted.

Because having an up-to-date biography on the web is the most practical way for adopters to search of their new forever companion and consider adoption, we ask that you provide us with an updated bio and pictures one week following their placement into your home. After the initial update, we ask that you send us occasional updates. We prefer that our fosters be tech-savvy, so we can sign them up under our web provider and have them update their foster's own profile, however, it is not required.

ARWOB schedules adoptions events, on average, a couple times per month. If your foster has potentials who would like to meet them at an event, we ask that you bring and transport them directly to the event, or schedule a meeting place with a transporter to get them there.

Mission Statement

Animal Rescuers Without Borders, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization which consists of a group of dedicated people who donate their time, resources, skills and energy toward the battle against the overpopulation of homeless pets and improving the lives of companion animals through rescue, fostering programs, adoption, pet care, educational programs and of course spaying and neutering.

Description

The A.R.W.O.B. group is based in San Diego, CA and operates mostly in Mexico as well as Southern California and will come to the aid of any animal in need which crosses our path. Our belief is to do what we can in order to "Make a difference in their lives." From experience we have observed and feel the companion animals of Mexico are in the greatest need and accordingly we focus much of our efforts in Baja, Mexico. However, we certainly extend our help to our north of the border critters by accepting relinquished family pets, exiting both dogs and cats from the shelters of San Diego and of course by working in conjunction with other animal rescue groups in the community.

The A.R.W.O.B. family believes in opening our arms and homes to the homeless, abandoned and unwanted dogs and cats of both Mexico and Southern California in order to offer whenever possible a safe house to these animals irrespective of age, sex, breed or size. Our rescued and fostered animals go through a period of quarantine which will last 3 weeks before they are placed into the adoption list in order to help us eliminate any transfer of disease between our rescued animals. Our rescues all receive veterinary care both south and north of the border, socialization and training in the hopes that they will be placed in a "forever" home. We are also focused on educating foster parents, adopters, school children and others especially in Baja, Mexico on the care, feeding and prevention of unwanted litters of both dogs and cats both pure or mix breeds.
