You can be a literacy tutor if you have an appreciation for reading, compassion and empathy for others, and a willingness to teach and to learn. Our learners are adults who may need help in learning to read better, understanding basic mathematics, and possibly preparing to pass the GED test. We ask that our tutors be able to give a minimum of one to two hours per week to work with their learner. All instructional materials are provided to learners and their tutors free of charge. You will to attend a Basic Tutor Training Class before you will be paired with a learner.
