This is a Virtual Opportunity, with no fixed address.

Volunteers are vital members of our interdisciplinary health care team! Nurses, social workers, spiritual care coordinators and volunteers work together to care for terminally ill patients and their families.

Free training is provided for those individuals interested in spending time with patients who have a life limited expectancy. Volunteers visit in the area where they live, providing companionship and support by listening, life review and whatever is comforting to the patient. Volunteers typically visit 2-3 hours weekly with patients.

Visits may include nursing homes, patient homes or in our Inpatient Hospice Unit. Times and days are very flexible.

Volunteers complete a comprehensive training program led by members of our health care team. Topics covered include:
- Role of the Hospice Volunteer
- Bereavement
- Hospice Caregiving
- Universal Health Precautions
- HIPAA Regulations

  • Music Therapy
  • Grant Writing / Research
